Sir Hugh Low

Sir Hugh Low was a colonial administrator and amateur naturalist. He was posted all over the far east but had strong connections with Italy. My portrait plaque depicts him alongside some of the flora and fauna he discovered and that are named after him. Carved in relief, the piece is on display at the Botanical gardens in Alassio, Italy.
