Marianne North

Marianne North was a pioneering Victorian explorer and botanical illustrator who painted the plants she found on her travels and founded a Gallery to house them at Kew Gardens.

My portrait plaque depicts her alongside one of her paintings. Carved in relief, the piece is on display at the Botanical gardens in Alassio, Italy.
